Your Team:

The Division of Human Resources, led by the Assistant Commissioner of HR for the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, works closely with all offices to achieve the agency’s mission. The Division of Human Resources includes the following operational units:

Investigations and Conflict Resolution Your Impact:

As the Payroll Associate for the Division of Human Resources, you will be responsible for processing pay for the agency’s staff, ensure adherence to established agency guidelines, rules/regulations, policy and procedures.

Your Role:

Payroll Associate will manage variety of special project, handle the more complex payroll data issues, and ensure on-going collaborative relationship with division liaisons. Your role will be to make sure of each employee paid properly. Report unclaimed checks to Manager in a timely manner. Handle the more complex payroll calculation of payment, ensuring data accuracy,

Your Responsibilities:
  • Completion of NYCERS Forms, Buy Back forms, related inquiry-Prepare employee DP 2001 for all inter-City Agency transfer;
  • Certify payroll by using RMDS reports, Refund of paychecks to OPA in a timely fashion;
  • Process the following: Direct Deposit Cancellation, Responsible as a Commuter Benefit Coordinator, Fingerprint fees, Uniform allowances, Collective bargaining increases and processing fees;
  • Perform salary updates based on collective bargain agreements and as per grievance decision;
  • Meticulous review of
PMS & RMDS

reports (700,320,160,161);

  • Monitor uncashed checks;
  • Assist with equity payment;
  • Uniform allowance payment;
  • Assist with audit transactions entries for salary adjustments, promotions, changes in employee status, etc., including paycheck breakdown and distribution;
  • Data entry of employee update in NYCAPS (resignation, terminations, retirements, suspensions, WU and budget code changes;
  • Generate various reports in NYCAPS and CHRMS.
Preferred skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Experience in payroll processing.
  • Experience of Timekeeping and Benefits is a plus value to the unit.
  • Like to work with figures.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent team work.

COMMUNITY COORDINATOR
  • 56058 Minimum Qualifications 1.

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in “1” above.
