The HR Generalist will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of HR functions including payroll, team member relations, onboarding, compliance, and HR reporting. This role requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. ADP payroll experience is essential, as the role includes end-to-end payroll processing, auditing, and compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing :
Accurately process bi-weekly payroll using ADP, including team member data changes, deductions, and timekeeping review.
Team Member Onboarding:
Assist the Recruiting Manager with the coordination and facilitation of new hire orientation and ensure completion of all onboarding documentation.
Benefits Administration :
Assist team members with benefit enrollments, changes, and questions. Support open enrollment activities.
HR Compliance :
Maintain team member records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Assist in audits and policy updates.
Team Member Relations :
Respond to team members inquiries and escalate issues as needed. Support team member engagement and recognition initiatives.
Recruitment Manager Support :
Post job openings, screen applicants, and schedule interviews in partnership with hiring managers.
HRIS Management :
Maintain and update team members information in ADP and other HR systems.
Reporting :
Generate regular reports related to headcount, payroll, and compliance metrics.
Qualifications:
Education :
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience:
2-3 years of HR experience with direct responsibility for processing payroll in ADP Workforce Now. Familiarity with employment laws and HR compliance requirements. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and people skills. High level of discretion with sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with additional HR platforms or applicant tracking systems (ATS). Prior experience in a multi-state or remote workforce environment. PHR or SHRM-CP certification or willingness to pursue certifications is a plus. Salary range: $20.00 – $30.00/hr., plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The anticipated salary range is for candidates who will work in New York City. The salary offered to a successful candidate will depend upon the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
