The Benefits Specialist will support the daily operations of the Employee Resources Team. Your responsibilities will include managing leave of absence administration, reconciling billing statements, and onboarding new employees, all while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Process and manage leave of absence requests and paperwork, including Disability, FMLA, and PFL. Knowledge and experience with Workers Compensation and OSHA Compliance Assist employees with enrolling in dental, vision, and medical and life insurance plans. Willingness to conduct new hire benefit orientations, educating employees on their benefits package and how to utilize it, as needed. Support the COBRA process, including handling paperwork, enrollments, and payments. Assist employees with questions or concerns regarding benefit coverage. Knowledge of ACA process and compliance. Keep employee files updated with all required documentation. Reconcile billing statements. Provide support for the employee mentor program as needed. Support various employee engagement activities and actively participate by encouraging interest and fostering positive interactions. Perform other duties as assigned .
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree is preferred; an Associate’s Degree required in Human Resources or related field. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the field of Human Resources. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with a high level of accuracy. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to interact effectively and efficiently with cross-functional team members, associates, and leadership. Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred. A friendly attitude for cooperative work with all employees and departments. Flexibility to transition between tasks as needed.
