Job Description
HR Generalist Taber Industries 455 Bryant Street, North Tonawanda, NY 14120 Taber Industries is looking for a full-time Human Resources Generalist who will process payroll, administer employee benefit plans, recruit and onboard new employees, perform and process terminations, and ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations in a unionized and government contract environment. Taber Industries is involved in the design, manufacture and sale of three product lines: pressure transducers, physical test instruments and mechanical presses and has a reputation for building high quality, competitively priced products. As the HR Generalist in a small but busy company, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to really make a mark and drive change and improvement in HR systems and processes. The salary range for this position is $60,000-70,000 annually, based on experience and skill level. The successful candidate will also receive excellent benefits including paid time off, health insurance, 401K with company match, paid holidays and more. This position requires in-office work and may not be eligible for a remote working arrangement. Essential Functions Reconciliation of production hours and processing of payrolls. Make rate, deduction, address, and any other changes in payroll system. Track PTO and maintain company calendar. Administration of employee benefits and human resource administration. Initial setup of new employees in each carrier’s online portal, tracking each employee’s benefit eligibility, processing employee changes, and coordinating the annual open enrollment period for all benefits and employees. Terminate benefits as necessary. Recruitment and on boarding of new employees. Post job openings, process background checks, schedule physicals and drug screenings, prepare new hire packets, on board new employees, ensure benefit enrollment is completed, and all company policies are communicated and accepted. Maintain Employee Handbooks, review new Federal and State legislation, ensure compliance when applicable. Lead investigator for any harassment claims and/or other employee issues, work with Vice President of Finance for resolution. Coordinate corporate culture events. Assist with planning, organizing, and executing corporate events. Other tasks as assigned. Education, Experience, Skills, and Qualities Required Two to three years of human resource administration in a corporate environment is preferred. Attention to detail Effective communication skills Knowledge of employee benefits and employment laws Discrete and confidential Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. Physical Demands Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time. Occasional movement throughout the office area and manufacturing facility. Must be able to communicate effectively with other employees. Constant operation of a computer. Occasional need to move files or office supplies, weighing up to 10 lbs.
