The Human Resources Department atYork College is seeking a highly proficient and detail-oriented Time and Leave Supervisor to oversee and manage the time and leave functions. This role requires expertise in timekeeping systems (ie: CUNY SOTA, Kronos, PeopleSoft) Excel, and payroll processes. The Time and Leave Supervisor will collaborate with University Payroll to ensure accurate and efficient time and leave management for all staff members. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring attendance records, processing leave requests, generating reports, and providing guidance on time and leave policies. Additionally, the Supervisor will support FMLA and other leave administration. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview below and the position summary above, other key duties include, but will not be limited to the following: Review and approve timesheets,ensuring accuracyandcompliancewithcontractualagreementsand university policies. Utilize CUNY Timekeeping system tomonitorandtrackstaffattendanceandworkhours. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in time and attendance records. Maintain up-to date knowledge ofrelevant labor laws andregulations. Process and track various types ofleaves,includingvacation,sick,personal,andotherapprovedleaves. Assist employees in understanding leave policies and procedures. Generate regular and ad-hoc reportsrelated to time and leavemanagement. Maintain employee time and leavebalances,ensuringdataaccuracyandconfidentiality. Conduct time and leave orientation and training for new hires and supervisors. Provide ongoing support and guidance toemployeesregardingtimeandleaveinquiries; Manages, supervises, trains and evaluates assigned full-time and part-time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor?s degree and four years? related experience required.

PREFERRED

Four years of experience in timekeeping, payroll, accounting orfinance. ExperiencewithPeopleSoftHRIS,NYS/NYCpayrollandtimeattendancesystems,orsimilar(e.g.,ADP, Kronos, Workday). Abilitytoanalyzeandapply timeandattendancerules,collectivebargainingagreements,andpersonnelregulations. Knowledgeoflocal,state,federalwageandleavelaws(e.g.,FLSA,FMLA). Strong proofreading, auditing, and critical analysis skills. Excellenttimemanagementandorganizationalskillsforhandlingvariedworkloadsanddeadlines. High professional integrity, sound judgment, and confidentiality in sensitive assignments. Stronginterpersonal,communication,andteamworkskillsforeffectivecollaborationwithdiversestakeholders. ProficiencywithMSOfficeSuite,MSTeams,Zoom,SharePoint,Dropbox,andothervirtualcollaborationtools.

Develops and administers processes and policies regarding Human Resources. Advises employees and managers on Human Resources policies and guidelines; provides a high level of customer service in assisting members of the College community Supervises and administers one or more human resources programs such as recruiting, pay administration, employee orientation, employee benefits, data entry and recordkeeping, and performance appraisal/reappointment practices Maintains an in-depth understanding of CUNY rules and regulations, relevant laws and guidelines, collective bargaining agreements, and College policies, and applies these to his/her areas of responsibility Investigates regarding sensitive employee issues or complaints Helps create innovative communications such as manuals, web pages, or employee meetings and provides these to the College community Performs related duties as assigned.
