Tompkins County is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Employee Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the administration and coordination of employee benefits programs for County employees and retirees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while delivering exceptional support and guidance.

As the Benefits Specialist, you will manage a wide range of benefits, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, and more—ensuring employees and retirees have the information and resources needed to make informed decisions. You will also help guide open enrollment, respond to life event changes, prepare reports, and participate in vendor negotiations and renewals.

This position works closely with benefit providers, staff, retirees, and the Greater Tompkins County Municipal Health Insurance Consortium. It’s a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the well-being of our workforce while growing your career in public service.
