The HR Specialist supports, trains, provides policy/procedure guidance and services for HR functions throughout the entire college at the direction of the HR Manager. The primary transactional HR support will be for the college departments, Faculty Affairs, Student Success, Innovative Collaboration Studio, Engineering Fundamentals, Advising, Engagement & Access, Engineering Professional Practice and Applied Engineering. This role is responsible for entry of all college-level transactions from start to finish hiring, salary updates, and fiscal labor schedule updates/creation as well as any transactions the remaining college departments cannot process. This position will pull regular reports as needed and assist with administrative tasks for the TCE Finance and Administration office for events, searches, and electronic file maintenance. The role will also contribute to the ongoing development of checklists, SOPS, training files for DASH, and provide updates in the college-wide DASH meetings. Monitor and manage the TCEHR email inbox Monitor, respond, and process all incoming TDX tickets in support of unit needs for the college departments Trains all new college-level staff/students on time entry , pulls reports each biweekly pay period to push time approvals, and troubleshoots time entry issues for the college as a subject matter expert Provides support and training to the college for the requisition processes and functions in DASH regarding managing requisitions and creating offers and fully manages requisitions for TCE departments and participates in the weekly college-level DASH meetings Develop checklists, document SOPs, and training materials related to the role’s duties and responsibilities Enters fiscal transactions to maintain account distribution of pay for students, staff, and faculty for the college-level departments Maintains electronic file updates, provides administrative office support for events, and creates job ads and letters as needed, and assists with administratively managing staff and faculty requisitions to help facility the hiring process Will act as a consultant/advisor to the Assistant Dean and Director in the absence of the
HR Manager Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma with 4-5 years of experience in a human resources role or work history with a combination of work related to management of the full cycle hiring process, office management, advising on procedures and policies, data entry, and/or providing office management support.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks based on needs of others and with time-sensitive deadlines as well as follow through to completion. Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment. Sound interpersonal and communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially in Excel, Teams, OneDrive, and Word. Knowledge of personnel management applications such as Oracle Knowledge of personnel maintenance processes including hiring, I-9 e-verification. Ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.

Experience :
1-2 years of experience in a human resources role related to full cycle hiring or work history with a combination of work related to management of the full cycle hiring process, office management, advising on procedures, data entry, and/or providing office management support. Experience in a human resources role related to recruiting, hiring, or employee relations at UT. Experience in an academic environment. Experience hiring foreign nationals and communicating with non-native English speakers. Certificates or training related to HR competencies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of personnel management applications such as ORACLE and Equifax Knowledge of personnel maintenance processes including required hiring documents. Knowledge of employment laws and practices. Knowledge of USCIS (visa) processes and document requirements
