Summary/Objective Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, HR Generalist will support the warehouses’ human resources needs as well as ensuring the maintenance of the Health and Safety program and overall safety and compliance of all employees. This includes tasks like recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. Specific duties may also include handling administrative tasks related to warehouse staff, such as managing working hours, time and attendance, training and performance management. This role is required to be hands-on working within a warehousing environment. Essential Functions Oversee attendance, managing temporary workers through staffing agencies, and ensuring proper record-keeping for all warehouse employees. Serve as the first point of contact for employees at a Warehouse regarding HR-related inquiries. Handling all stages of hiring, from job postings to onboarding new warehouse staff. Addressing employee concerns, providing guidance, and mediating conflicts within the warehouse. Provide support to managers and employees on HR-related matters including recruitment, employee relations, performance improvement, development plans, organizational changes, working hours, attendance and addressing inquiries related to vacation and benefits. Support employee benefit programs and serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, time off, and policies. Assist the Payroll & Benefits Manager with payroll processing functions including timesheet reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance. Ensuring compliance with labor laws, company policies, and warehouse safety regulations. Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state and federal labor laws. Providing training programs and development opportunities to enhance warehouse staff skills. Conduct new employee orientations and facilitate training sessions as needed. Support management with evaluating employee performance and providing feedback. Writing disciplinary letters and warning. Coordinate and support internal investigations, corrective actions, and conflict resolution with a focus on fairness and documentation. Lead disciplinary and termination meetings Supervise the adherence to safety regulations and maintain a safe warehouse environment. Implementing training programs for warehouse staff, potentially focusing on safety, quality, or performance improvement. Maintain an effective health and safety program, including policies, standards, and training programs. Participate in audits, health and safety programs, and compliance reviews as needed. Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and hazard assessments. Manage workplace accidents and WCB claims documentation. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, HRIS data, and compliance reporting. Any other duties as required. Travel 40% travel required to all warehouse locations on a rotation basis (locations include: TX, AL, IL, TN, CA and Ontario Canada) including overnight trips. Skills and Qualifications Strong internal customer services skills and ability to answer employee questions and problems in a professional and timely manner. Must be able to work effectively in a team-based collaborative environment and independently. Demonstrates ownership of assigned responsibilities with a positive self-starter attitude. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to work independently with minimal direction. Highly organized and great time management skills

High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong problem-solving and judgment skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality. Required Education and Experience 3 years of HR-related experience, including at least 1 year in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus. Knowledge of employment law and HR compliance standards. Working knowledge of safe work practices (OSHA, etc.) for all functions performed in a distribution facility. Excellent knowledge of employment law and other governmental requirements related to human resources. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP WFN). Ability to build relationships and influence others across multiple operations. Experience as a benefit administrator to include health and retirement plans. Ability to work independently as the first point of contact is essential. Experience with OSHA regulations and safety management. Experience with investigations including, but not limited to, accidents and harassment allegations. Must be available to work evenings/weekends when required. Ability to research, analyze and recommend solutions to questions or issues as they arise. Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
