Experience Summary of Position:

Administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs duties of Human Resources Generalist to include but not limited to the following: Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions. Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals. Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting. Works with managers and supervisors in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment. Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Participates as part of the process as necessary. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization. Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization. Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance. Risk management, and primary contact for Workers Compensation and General Liability Insurance carriers. Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier. Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate. Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Other duties as assigned by supervisor, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Degree in Human Resources related field with two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Human Resource systems; Payroll systems; Microsoft Suite of Office Products. Experience with Paychex payroll systems preferred Other Skills and Abilities High level of written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to listen empathetically and communicate effectively with employees from all levels of the company. Strong organization skills and attention to detail required. Ability to manage highly emotional situations relating to employee corrective counseling matters, with an appropriate level of empathy and good judgment. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
