Training Center Manager (Workforce Development) 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Opelika, AL 36801 Training Center Manager Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Opelika , AL The Mission department seeks a Training Center Manager to support positive outcomes of career services, vocational training programs, and other services delivered on or off-site. Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc.’s Training Center Manager responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day functions of the center, including all operations, facilities, and team members. Oversees the overall budget for the center and monitors spending to ensure a negative net before depreciation. Submits variance reports and expense reports. Closely work with mission leadership and collaborate with other departments, including billing, accounting, compliance, communications, and people services. Implements strategic planning goals and processes and coordinates client services regarding the job search process, interviews, resumes, and all other aspects of career planning, including coordination of workshops, recruiting events, and other services for clients, employers, and partner organizations. Review client’s files to ensure accuracy and thoroughness, including documentation in the client database system. Ensure compliance with GoodwillSR policies and procedures, CARF requirements for accreditation and funder standards. Maintain open communication and productive working relationships with funding partners such as the Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, Veterans Affairs, Department of Labor staff, and other community partners. Serve on community committees related to the people we serve, solve accessibility problems, create awareness, and provide opportunities for network connections. Monitor and address safety issues; facilitates safety drills and completes monthly safety inspections. Develop new opportunities to expand education and training services offered and populations served. Helped manage client caseloads and provided case management and training services to clients. Supervisory Responsibilities This position manages all Workforce Development (WFD) and Career Center team members within the given center. It is responsible for the day-to-day operations, performance management, and hiring of the team members within the department. Education & Experience Requires a level of knowledge usually gained through completion of post-graduate work, preferably in vocational rehabilitation or a counseling-related field that may include but is not limited to degrees in education, special education, social work, or psychology. CRC, LSW, or LPC; preferred. Minimum 4 years related work experience in business, workforce development, occupational skills training, or related field, at least 3 of which were in a supervisory/administrative capacity. Case management experience preferred. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Travel is required for community outreach, partnership meetings, professional development, and/or to assist other facilities.
