Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Hartford, Connecticut. In this role, you will lead HR operations, develop and implement key strategies, and foster a positive work environment with several direct reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and provide guidance to HR Generalists and Assistants, ensuring efficient and effective team performance.
  • Design and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership, including the Executive Director and Director of Operations, to address HR needs.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, employee development, and succession planning to support workforce sustainability.
  • Handle employee relations issues by providing resolution strategies and maintaining a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with federal and state employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Create, update, and manage HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively communicated and enforced.
  • Monitor and manage benefit functions, hiring processes, and payroll systems to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Utilize tools like Paycom for HR administration and reporting. Requirements
  • Proven experience in HR management, with a focus on strategy development and execution.
  • Nonprofit experience is a nice to have but not a requirement.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations at both federal and state levels.
  • Expertise in employee relations, talent management, and succession planning.
  • Familiarity with HR administration tools, including Paycom, is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee benefit functions and hiring processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with leadership and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
