This role is critical in shaping a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and driving HR initiatives that support our mission and values. Wachusett Healthcare is a skilled nursing facility organization in Connecticut, comprising of four facilities: Harbor Village, Villa Maria, Parkway Pavilion and Beechwood. The organization specializes in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, memory support, respite services, and palliative & hospice care. Discover the difference of quality care and become a member of the Wachusett family. Key Responsibilities Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and staff on HR policies and best practices. Lead the design and implementation of HR programs across the employee lifecycle—including onboarding, performance management, engagement, and development. Provide guidance on employee relations, workforce planning, organizational design, and change management. Develop and implement HR policies and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Drive annual HR processes, including performance reviews, compensation planning, and benefits administration. Conduct training needs assessments and implement development programs. Develop and implement policies, frameworks, and tools to ensure consistency, compliance, and scalability across teams. Lead and mentor HR team members and/or manage cross-functional projects as needed. Maintain HRIS systems and ensure accurate personnel and payroll records. Represent the organization in legal claims and hearings. Provide 24/7 HR support for emergency operations as needed. Essential Skills & Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience as an Director of Human Resources or HR leadership role in Healthcare industry a plus. Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and decision-making skills. Strong background in recruitment, employee development, and benefits management. Proficiency with HRIS systems, compliance auditing, and Excel. Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
