The firm’s team of 200+ litigators reside in 16 offices. Provide assistance with hiring all positions, including preparing position descriptions, job posting, advertising, and applicant communication. Process all new staff hires including new hire paperwork, communication of welcome information and offer letter; coordinate on-boarding including background screenings and pre-employment requirements. Supervise Benefit Coordinator and assist employees in their benefits (e.g. medical, dental, vision and life insurance, 401K). Process time/attendance records. Process employment changes. Manage employee annual review process. Maintain employee hand book. Maintains human resources information system database, maintain employee record keeping. Prepares new-employee files; keep documents into appropriate employee files. Prepares and submits paperwork for new hires, status changes and separations Maintains human resources compliance with federal, state laws; assists in maintaining records for various statistical reports. Respond to routine internal and external HR inquiries, such as basic employee relations issues. Monitor attendance, punctuality and absenteeism to ensure compliance and address violations and maintain the disciplinary process. Acts as liaison between employee and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices and regulations. Manage the workers compensation process, including receiving calls, distributing paperwork, and tracking for quality control purposes. Monitors unemployment claims. Maintains confidentiality of the office of Human Resources at all times. Must complete assigned activities thoroughly and within specified timeframe. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications Strong organizational skills. Must have basic HR knowledge of employment law, compensation and benefits, and employee relations. Experience supporting multi-unit business locations. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and helpful attitude. Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information. Assumes a professional, helpful style in all encounters, 100% of the time. Works cordially with others in a team setting. Computer literate and proficiency to Internet, online applications and email.
