POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Engagement and Retention Manager is responsible for enhancing employee experience through effective engagement and retention strategies, including but not limited to, recruitment, onboarding, recognition, learning and development, diversity, wellness, and other activities aimed at creating a positive workplace environment. This role focuses on establishing TOC as an employer of choice by promoting the company culture and values, and implementing programs that foster an inclusive and supportive work environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Collaborates with various teams to develop and maintain policies and practices that attract and retain top talent. Ensures engagement and retention strategies are put into practice efficiently and effectively. Assists with tracking turnover with a focus on new hire retention at all locations. Oversees development of turnover costs and ensures accurate data reporting. Assists teams with onboarding new employees. Assists leadership with conducting, tracking and evaluating training after 90 days employment of new employees. Administers processes for Stay Interviews for both continuing and newly-hired employees. Develops and supports diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Partners with leadership to engage with new hires prior to start date. Creates effective recognition programs and initiatives. Conducts periodic employee surveys to identify key factors impacting retention in order to address needs and improve satisfaction. Partners with leadership to establish engagement and retention goals, including maximum performance and job growth. Advise the HR Director of any findings or issues that significantly impacts the organization. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as assigned by the HR Director, as deemed appropriate.

GENERAL COMPENTENCIES DESIRED

Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication. Excellent time management and analytical skills, paying attention to detail. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Good collaboration and team building skills. Proven history of creating and implementing successful engagement and retention strategies. Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently, exercising judgement and initiative. Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires prolonged sitting and frequent bending, stooping or stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity necessary for operation of basic office equipment such as a keyboard, calculator, telephone and copier. Requires hearing and eye sight in normal acuity range. Working in office environment. Requires ability to work under stressful conditions, irregular hours and irate individuals.

CREDENTIALS DESIRED

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field preferred. Would consider equivalent combination of an Associate’s degree with two to four years of related experience and/or training.
