POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Human Resources Manager supports daily HR functions and plays a key role in creating a positive and compliant workplace. This role involves assisting with employee support, basic policy administration, and coordination of core HR processes. A general understanding of leave programs, workplace injuries, employee benefits, and employee relations is essential.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Support the administration of employee leave programs and assist with related documentation and follow-up.
- Assist in responding to employee questions about benefits, policies, and general HR topics.
- Help manage basic employee relations matters by providing guidance and support in collaboration with senior HR leadership.
- Assist with the processing of all PAFs and Employment Requisitions for signatures.
- Support documentation and communication processes related to workplace injuries and workers’ compensation claims.
- Maintain employee records and update systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in onboarding and offboarding activities, including new hire orientation and exit processes.
- Help coordinate employee engagement efforts, communications, and HR initiatives.
- Assist with off property job fairs
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive information.
- Support compliance with workplace laws, policies, and procedures.
- Other projects as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Some prior HR experience (internship or entry-level) is helpful.
- General understanding of employee benefits, leave policies, and basic workplace compliance.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Comfortable using standard office software and willing to learn HR systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- May be required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
- Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.
- Requires grasping, writing, typing, standing, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur in the process of communicating with others.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, computers, multi-line phones, FAX machine, photocopiers and other office equipment as needed.
- Typical office setting with regular computer use.
- May occasionally require attending meetings or events in person.
