Role:
The Human Resources Manager will collaborate closely with employees and leadership at both the headquarters and the food production facility. This role is responsible for aligning HR strategies with business objectives by leading workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, and organizational training initiatives. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills, combined with sound judgment and a proactive, solutions-focused approach, are essential for success. Proficiency in HR systems and data reporting is preferred to streamline processes and support decision-making. Acting as a trusted advisor to leadership and staff, the HR Manager fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture while ensuring compliance with labor laws, safety standards, and company policies. This position is crucial in driving employee engagement, retention, performance management, and continuous improvement to meet the organization’s evolving needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or food production environment. Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements. Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is required. Fluency in English and Spanish required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with employees at all levels.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business strategy. Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding new employees. Maintain accurate employee records and manage HRIS systems. Administer benefits programs and assist employees with benefits-related questions. Manage the company’s 401(k) plan, ensuring compliance, overseeing enrollments and contributions, coordinating with plan providers, and supporting employee education. Coordinate and track required safety and compliance training, working closely with the safety team. Participate in audits and ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, and other regulatory agencies as applicable to a food production environment. Oversee employee orientation programs to ensure smooth integration into the company. Administer payroll processes using the ADP TotalSource platform. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. Act as a trusted advisor to supervisors and employees on HR-related issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions. Design organizational structures that promote efficiency and effectiveness. Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases. Collaborate with management to identify workforce needs and develop training programs. Collaborate with the SVP of Administration and leadership teams across affiliated companies to align HR efforts and share best practices.
Working Conditions:
Office setting located within a food production facility. Regular presence on the production floor is required to maintain visibility and engagement with staff. Must comply with GMPs and PPE requirements in production areas. Occasional travel may be required.
