Certified Compensation Professional Full Job Description Location:

The Adult Rehabilitation Centers Command (ARCC) – Atlanta, GA About this opportunity: This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The Assistant Human Resources Director reviews, analyzes, and plans the implementation of special projects related to human resources for the ARC Centers and ARC Command in some or all of the following job functions: Employee Relations, Leave Management, Performance Management, Compensation/Position Development, and Recruitment. The Assistant Human Resources Director will provide back-up relief to the Human Resources Director as needed.

Key responsibilities:

Reviews, interprets, and implements new or revised policies and procedures. Serves as a liaison between the ARC Centers, Adult Rehabilitation Centers Command, and Territorial Headquarters regarding human resources functions and policies. Analyzes employee relation issues and provides guidance. Coordinates the preparation and maintenance of personnel records for all ARC Command employees. Reviews and processes various TSAMM relating to Employee Transfers, Terminations, Position/Compensation, etc. for Board approvals. Oversees and manages Leave Management for ARC Command and ARC Centers employees including, but not limited to, ADA, FMLA and Extended Leave of Absence. Communicates with various ARC Center Staff and ARC Command Staff to learn and document new positions or changes in existing positions; provides recommendations on the proper classification of the job; explains compensation policy and procedures. Conducts job analysis for new reclassified positions for the ARC Centers and ARC Command; writes job descriptions; make internal comparisons between jobs to ensure the work is properly classified with the job family. Manages and audits the monthly and annual performance evaluation process. Creates and reviews job postings to ensure positions are adequately described and targeting the appropriate applicants; supervises department employees; provides backup coverage in other human resources areas, as needed. What we are looking for in you: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field Four years progressively responsible experience working in a human resources office OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications:

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, CCP and/or CBP preferred

Valid Driver’s License Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work is ordinarily performed in a normal office environment where there is little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like. Ability to travel as needed to conduct on-site visits and/or training; ability to sit, walk, and stand in order to perform the duties of the position. Ability to perform mathematical calculations with accuracy. Ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to type and keypunch information into a computer. Ability to operate and answer the telephone.
