Reporting to the Senior Director, HR Compliance and Policies, this role leads efforts to proactively identify and manage compliance risk across U.S. operations, while embedding digital solutions—including generative and agentic AI—into key HR compliance processes. The Director will partner closely with Legal, Operations, Technology, and HR stakeholders to ensure compliance programs are operationally integrated, measurable, and continuously evolving. This is a Hybrid Role (in-office Tue/Wed/Thu) at one of our offices in Sugar Land (Houston), Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, NYC or Atlanta! Essential Functions Design and manage a comprehensive HR compliance program aligned with legal obligations and business needs. Monitor employment law and regulatory developments across multiple jurisdictions and adjust internal policies and procedures accordingly. Lead development and delivery of semi-annual legal and compliance updates to HR and field leadership. Partner with Legal, Operations, and other HR leaders to develop scalable, practical approaches to compliance risk mitigation. Direct the use of generative AI and agentic AI to enhance compliance training, reporting, and risk management tools. Manage internal investigations related to HR compliance matters and drive timely resolution and remediation plans. Establish key metrics and dashboards to measure compliance program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities. Lead or support audit preparation and response efforts for government and client reviews related to HR compliance. Serve as a resource and strategic advisor on complex compliance issues, translating legal requirements into accessible guidance. Identify and implement process improvements and digital innovations that strengthen compliance infrastructure and reduce risk. Scope Factors Leads a team supporting multi-jurisdictional HR compliance efforts across the U.S. Responsible for HR compliance metrics and reporting tied to legal, operational, and audit requirements. Works cross-functionally with multiple departments to implement forward-looking compliance strategies. Qualifications – Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; JD or Master’s degree in HR, Law, or related field is a plus. Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive HR compliance experience, with at least five (5) years in a leadership capacity. Demonstrated experience managing enterprise compliance programs and responding to audits or investigations. Proven ability to implement AI-enabled or technology-forward compliance solutions is highly desirable. Qualifications – Other Skills, Abilities & Knowledge Deep knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR compliance requirements. Strong analytical skills with ability to identify compliance risks and trends from complex data. Confident communicator who can influence, educate, and support diverse stakeholders across departments. Tech-forward mindset with understanding of how digital tools can scale compliance operations. Ability to maintain composure under pressure and navigate sensitive or high-stakes situations. Self-starter who exercises sound judgment, adapts quickly to changing requirements, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Relationship-oriented, collaborative, and driven by continuous improvement. Qualifications – License(s) & Language(s) Legal licensure (bar membership) a plus but not required. English required; bilingual (especially Spanish) is a plus.
Pay:
$122,850-$175,500 The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.
