As a member of the Employee Relations & Engagement team, and reporting to the Senior Director, Employee Relations & HR Business Partnering, the main responsibilities of the HR Business Partner – Employee relations & engagement (Americas) will be to: Operate as HR Business Partner by providing HR support to Managers and employees across Global Business Units Investigate and resolve employee relations issues and concerns, including but not limited to disputes, complaints, grievances, and disciplinary issues in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. Provide advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including performance management (including probation review), conflict resolution, and termination procedures. Track employee relations cases and produce analytics as needed. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs to improve employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Develop the skills of our People Managers through coaching and development in employee related matters including diversity, inclusion, communication, and conflict resolution Stay updated on changes to labor laws and regulations, ensure company policies, practices and procedures are compliant, and support compliance to labor laws and regulations. Proactively identify potential risks and support the implementation of appropriate measures to mitigate legal exposure. Support employees, managers, and other internal teams (such as HR Operations and CoEs) through complex leave of absence cases. Provide input regarding internal processes and propose solutions to make them more efficient, effective, and aligned with business goals. Participate in project work, as needed.

Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Work Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee relations or HR Business partner relations roles.
Thorough understanding of labor laws and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply them in a corporate setting. Proven experience in conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation. Desirable experience working in a global or multinational company. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills Expert knowledge of MS Office 365 tools, experience with Oracle HCM preferred Experience in CRO, pharmaceutical or similar related industries preferred

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of US Labour Law Working knowledge of employment law in Canada Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with employees and management.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Experience in developing people managers. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Proactive, detail oriented and able to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
