Manage and collaborate with HR team to deliver strategic and tactical HR programs that provide a return on investment for the business. Responsible for leading and implementation of human resources policies, programs, practices, and HR-related projects for the region: talent acquisition, employee engagement & retention, employee/labor relations, compensation, incentive plan, organizational development, and employee communication. Develops positive relationships with employees and participates in companywide initiatives in a building a positive workplace culture. Must be able to promote an overall corporate image of excellence through a strong work ethic, leadership by example, and the consistent delivery of exceptional internal service. Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes to support the company’s organizational goals.
- Supports division-wide human resource strategies, programs, and processes into operating stores.
- Accomplishes human resources and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Manage and develop recruitment strategies to attract top talent. Oversee the entire hiring process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with Atlanta’s General Manager on work force planning to understand staffing needs and ensure timely recruitment.
- Participate in the monthly P&L process with company operations.
- Plans and conducts all labor relations including negotiations of local unions on grievances and arbitrations as needed to comply with collective bargaining agreements. Mediates and resolves employee relations disputes as necessary.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Coaches, and provides direction on HR related initiatives to the Unit Managers and the Operations team.
- Guide managers in conducting quarterly assessments. Provide coaching and support to managers and employees on performance-related issues.
- Identify training needs and design training programs to enhance employee skills and career development.
- Promote leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
- Oversee the workers compensation process for the Atlanta market. Support administration of compensation and benefits programs.
- Manage the Atlanta employee benefits enrollment and address employee inquiries regarding benefit
- Receives and responds to employment-related claims from various government or public agencies; recommends settlement or defense based on actual investigation of facts.
- Provides counseling/training for mid managers in the areas of labor / employee relations, EEO, affirmative action, and discrimination.
- Supports new employee orientation, transfers, salary adjustments and termination paperwork.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university or similar work experience required.
Work Experience:
- At least 7 years experience in progressively responsible human resource roles, with at least 2 years experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations; and at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience working in transportation, hospitality, manufacturing or food service environment highly desirable. Competencies
