The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs to best use employees’ talents Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent Collaborates with Environmental & Safety Manager on tracking and reporting injury & illnesses in the workplace and implementing existing and new safety initiatives Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees Coordinates and tracks annual Motor Vehicle reports, Clearinghouse Queries for CDL holders and ensures compliance with
FMCSA & DOT
regulations Acts as a liaison for Company Drug Testing Consortium Manager ensuring Company is meeting the minimum random drug & alcohol testing rates, ensuring compliance in the coordination of random testing and ensuring test results are accurately filed Work in collaboration with drug testing collection provider to track and monitor employees on SAP Follow-up plans are meeting the requirements dictated by the plan Administer, track and maintain proper documentation related to workers compensation claims and leave and other forms of leave Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Implement and annually update the compensation program including rewriting of job descriptions as necessary, conducting annual salary surveys, and reviewing and analyzing company compensation practices Conduct recruitment effort for all position levels including writing and placing advertisements, working with managers to screen and interview candidates, conducting reference checks, extending job offers, and conducting new employee onboarding Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws Maintain personnel files for compliance and skills awareness Oversee benefit administration, including benefit renewal, communication, liaison to broker and insurance providers, and administrator of the benefits system Process weekly payroll
