The Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting key HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, and performance management, while leading initiatives that promote a positive work culture through strategic employee recognition programs. This role ensures that our people strategies are aligned with organizational values and business goals, with a strong focus on fostering employee engagement, appreciation, and retention.
KPIs:
Employee Satisfaction with Recognition (Survey): 85%+ positive responses on relevant survey questions.
Voluntary Turnover Rate:
Maintain or reduce voluntary turnover by department or company average; benchmark against industry standard.
Policy Compliance Rate:
100% compliance with internal HR policies and labor regulations (as measured by internal audits).
Time-to-Fill Open Positions:
Target average of X days from job posting to accepted offer. Employee-Centric Mindset General HR Functions Support the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to offboarding. Assist in administering HR policies, procedures, and compliance with all applicable employment laws. Respond to employee inquiries and concerns with professionalism and discretion. Assist with performance review cycles, including training managers on process and best practices. Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data. Participate in employee relations investigations and documentation, under the direction of senior HR leadership. Support onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a welcoming and consistent experience for all new hires. Employee Engagement & Recognition Design, implement, and manage organization-wide employee recognition programs that reinforce company values, encourage outstanding performance, and celebrate tenure and key milestones. Partner with leadership and department heads to customize recognition initiatives that align with team-specific goals. Oversee annual and quarterly recognition events, service award programs, peer-to-peer recognition platforms, and spot bonus initiatives. Evaluate program effectiveness through employee feedback, engagement metrics, and participation rates; adjust programs to enhance impact. Manage communications related to recognition efforts, including internal newsletters, announcements, and intranet updates. Collaborate with Marketing/Communications to highlight employee stories and recognition on internal channels. Culture & Retention Support Support employee engagement surveys and assist in developing follow-up action plans. Recommend and help execute initiatives that support a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment. Assist in planning and executing HR-related events and initiatives such as employee appreciation days, health & wellness initiatives, and team-building activities.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business or related area; relevant work experience may be a substitute 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or Employee Engagement role. Experience in designing and managing Employee Recognition programs strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels. Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite Experience with the human resources information system (HRIS). Excellent organizational and project management skills. Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring and employee relations; able to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations Experience with analyzing data to guide strategic employment planning SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR certification preferred.
