Full-Time Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes at the hotel. This role ensures the hotel is staffed with high-performing employees while fostering a positive, engaging, and compliant work environment. The HR Manager will oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, benefits administration, and compliance with all employment laws and hotel policies. The ideal candidate is people-oriented, organized, and capable of balancing strategic planning with hands-on HR operations, playing a key role in supporting a culture of hospitality, excellence, and employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Staffing Lead the full recruitment life cycle: sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding hotel staff across all departments. Partner with department heads to understand staffing needs and ensure timely fulfillment of open positions. Develop and maintain relationships with local schools, community organizations, and job boards to attract diverse talent. Employee Relations & Engagement Serve as a trusted advisor to hotel leadership and employees regarding employee relations issues. Promote a positive work environment by managing employee recognition programs and engagement initiatives. Investigate and resolve workplace complaints, conflicts, and disciplinary matters professionally and confidentially. Training & Development Coordinate and deliver orientation programs for new hires to integrate them into the hotel culture and operations. Develop and support ongoing training initiatives focused on hospitality excellence, service standards, and compliance. Identify employee development needs and facilitate career growth programs in partnership with department managers. Performance Management Support managers in the performance review process, providing tools, coaching, and guidance on goal setting and feedback. Track employee performance issues and assist with developing improvement plans when necessary. Compensation & Benefits Administration Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, PTO, and employee perks. Act as a liaison between employees and benefits providers, answering questions and resolving issues. Compliance & Recordkeeping Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., EEOC, FMLA, OSHA, ADA) and hotel policies. Maintain accurate employee records, including hiring documents, disciplinary actions, and training certifications. Prepare and submit required reports for internal audits and government agencies. HR Strategy & Policy Development Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures in alignment with hotel goals and legal requirements. Collaborate with leadership to support organizational change and hotel strategic planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of human resources experience; prior HR experience in a hotel or hospitality environment strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and hospitality industry standards. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization. Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail. Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and applicant tracking systems. HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred but not required.
