Job DescriptionOverall Purpose and Objective of PositionThis position is responsible for human resources activities in support of the Company’s grain & oilseed industrial assets (multiple locations throughout the US). Responsibilities include management of recruitment activities, HRIS management, budget preparations, employee relations, assistance in the development of Company’s HR policies and procedures, and providing HR direction and leadership to multiple locations.

We are seeking a candidate with HR experience working for an industrial/manufacturing company with regional oversight is a MUST.

  • This position is required to be in the office 4 days a week/1 flex day

Primary Responsibilities:

Counsels and acts as a business partner with managers, supervisors, and employees on employment issues.

Participates in and or leads HR Center of Excellence teams and supports related project workWorks closely with industrial and commercial management teams, accounting, and regional HR in preparing and updating numerous versions of the annual budget and reforecasts.

Investigates employee relations issues and recommends appropriate actions (discipline, terminations etc.)Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the organization.

Implements HR programs by providing HR services, including but not limited to employment processing, training & development, and employee relations and retention.

Supports key business leaders within region and helps to foster strategic discussions around peopleProvides HR leadership for the Company’s regional Industrial Trainee & Internship Programs, attends recruitment fairs and seeks out opportunities for expanding internship and trainee programs.

Serves as a site subject matter expert on the company’s HRIS system (Workday), time & record system (Kronos), and employment policies.

Manages leave process for multiple locations ensuring appropriate paperwork is provided, completed and accurate. (FMLA, ADA, Military, Personal, other leaves). Participates in site staff meetings and attends other functional meetings as required.

Ensures activities are in compliance with all state and federal employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO and FLSAAids Senior HR Leadership in administration of Company’s performance management program.

Provides HR support during mergers/acquisitions and rightsizing efforts as directed.

Recruits for the assigned HR client group as needed and manages the hourly recruitment process. 

Administrative Responsibilities:

Accountable for and/or assigns responsibilities for the administration of the following:

Creates, maintains, and analyzes monthly reports pertaining to headcounts, employment costs, and open positions, and provides reconciliation support for regional accounting and HR departments as necessary.

Backs up and supports other HR Managers within the region as neededQualificationsEducation/Professional Certifications/LicensesBasic qualification: Bachelor’s Degree majoring social science field (psychology, communications, etc.)Preferred qualification: Bachelor’s degree majoring in Human Resource or similarMaster’s Degree in business related fieldProfessional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, and/or Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certificationMember of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)ExperienceBasic qualification: 5-8 years of progressive Human Resources experience3-5 years of plant manufacturing experience in HRPreferred qualification:

Previous experience supporting unionized, and multiple, locations helpfulPrevious supervisory experienceKnowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)Basic qualifications: Outstanding verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to develop strong, positive relationships with both internal and external clients.

High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentationAbility to represent the Company in professional meetings and recruitment eventsProficiency with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
