Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Director of People to join our Senior Leadership Team and support our brands: Healthworks Fitness, Republic Fitness, GymIt, and First Fitness Management. This role is ideal for an energetic, strategic, and people-first professional who thrives on building culture, driving engagement, and developing initiatives that support and celebrate our team. While this role includes traditional HR responsibilities, the primary focus is on fostering a thriving workplace culture, enhancing employee experience, and aligning people strategies with our mission and values. Be Doing:
Culture & Engagement:
Champion and evolve our company culture across all locations. Build and lead a high-performing team of People and Culture professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. Work collaboratively with the leadership team across the organization. Develop and execute a strategic vision for enhancing the employee experience across the organization. Lead initiatives that promote employee engagement, recognition, and well-being. Organize team-building events, retreats, celebrations, and regular check-ins.
Talent Acquisition & Team Member Development:
Oversee the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment to offboarding. Develop and implement inclusive recruiting strategies to attract top-tier talent. Define and train leaders on hiring processes, interview techniques, and KPIs. Lead onboarding efforts to ensure new hires are welcomed, trained, and integrated successfully. Support leadership development and ongoing education for trainers, massage therapists, and instructors. Foster a strong culture through regular meetings, check-ins, retreats, pulse checks, celebrations, and ongoing feedback on how team members embody our core values and demonstrate key skills. Support talent development with training for our teams on leadership, growth and fitness and wellness specific topics.

HR Operations & Compliance:
Serve as a trusted resource for staff and leadership on HR matters. Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain up-to-date HR documentation. Manage benefits communication and act as a liaison between the Accounting Team and club staff. Maintain and optimize our ADP electronic onboarding system. Conduct competitive analysis to ensure our compensation and benefits remain attractive. Create, grow and lead the People and Culture team.
Qualifications:
Passion for fitness and wellness. Experience growing and leading a team 8-10 years of experience in leadership of HR, fitness, hospitality, or retail. SHRM certification or a degree in Human Resources or a related field.

$130,000-$150,000 annually, including base salary and performance-based bonuses.
