The purpose of this role is to create, lead, and drive the associate experience strategy for all functions at Stop & Shop supporting the end-to-end associate lifecycle – from passive and potential candidates, active candidates, new associates, through to specialized professional and career development. This role plays a key part in establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving talent attraction, sourcing, and acquisition practices along with new hire orientation, onboarding, performance management, development planning, career pathing, talent calibration, mentorship, succession planning, and executive development. This role maximizes the potential of Stop & Shop’s associate experience strategies and provides strong, consistent leadership to HR and business leaders with the objective of adding value to the organization using business, operational, analytic, change leadership, and talent management acumen. This position requires the ability to motivate, lead, guide, and develop a team while continuously improving associate experience processes to ultimately grow our people and win together to deliver our strategy and purpose What we ask of you:
STRATEGY & LEADERSHIP
Create, lead, and promote multi-year Associate Experience strategy by delivering timely and high-quality results and evaluating for continuous improvement. Monitor, introduce and/or refine the integrated Associate Experience priorities, processes, and programs as needed based on HR Lead and business feedback, and evolving business needs. Partner with leaders in Learning & Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Engagement, and Associate Communications to ensure appropriate connections in strategies, deliverables, and messages. Maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring service-level and quality agreements are met, providing feedback, exploring new or enhanced needs, and ensuring contracts and invoices are up to date.
TALENT ATTRACTION & ACQUISITION
Lead creation of consistent talent attraction, sourcing, hiring, and selection processes and practices that ignite brand pride, promote cultural awareness, and fulfill our employee value proposition. Utilize workforce plans to drive strategic talent recruitment and pipeline initiatives in collaboration with HR and business leaders. Introduce or enhance talent acquisition strategies and results by analyzing key business targets and their related talent pipeline needs with HR Leads. Lead and support the development of Talent Acquisition Specialists who act as key staffing partners in the support of Field (exempt only) and Corporate Support. Drive diversity within functional talent acquisition efforts, ensuring a balanced and diverse slate of candidates for all positions being recruited.
ASSOCIATE EXPERIENCE
Lead creation of consistent new hire orientation and onboarding experience for all functions to ignite brand pride, cultural awareness, and our employee value proposition. Lead and support the development of Talent Manager who leads execution and analysis of talent processes that support of Field (exempt only) and Corporate Support. Establish, implement, and continuously evolve consistent talent planning and development practices supporting goal setting, performance management, individual development planning, mentorship and sponsorship programs, and top talent development support. Generate and share strategic talent insights, including calibrated Talent Reviews, to show the health and needs of internal and external talent pipeline. Provide strategic organizational insights to HR Directors and functional leaders on forecasting and planning their internal talent development pipeline requirements in line with business strategy, including identification, assessment, and development plans of potential successors for core and key roles. Serve as liaison to Global and US brand talent priorities, initiatives, and timelines ensuring alignment to Stop & Shop talent and business strategies and adherence to key deliverables and deadlines. What you bring to the table: 10+ years of HR experience +5 years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, talent management, or related disciplines Experience supervising direct reports and influencing indirect reports Preferred experience in Grocery Retail and understanding of the industry Proficiency using HRIS system; SAP SuccessFactors Suite (including Calibration, Goal Setting, Onboarding, Performance, Recruiting, Reporting, and Succession), preferred Broad scope of Talent Management and HR knowledge including in the areas of: Associate Relations, Total Rewards (including compensation and benefits), Employment Law, HR Policies, HRIS Technology, Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Goal Setting, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Talent Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Engagement, and Succession Planning. Significant business and financial acumen with ability to provide advanced operational insight and synthesize large quantities of quantitative and qualitative data. Self-motivated and organized to drive business objectives and department timelines. Proven supervisory and leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written with all levels of leadership and peers. Strong analytical and critical strategic thinking, negotiating skills used to evaluate team workloads, project management skills, and a thorough understanding of available technologies that assist insights and productivity. Advanced project management skills including conceptualizing, planning, estimating, executing, and evaluating progress and success. Strong change leadership skills including building a common goal, engaging with stakeholders, inspiring action and adoption. Ability to lead multiple, concurrent priorities.
