Job Description:

The Department of Transportation’s Human Resources Office is seeking highly motivated applicants for the position of Human Resources Manager. This position requires superior interpersonal skills in the areas of coaching and negotiations and takes a consultative role in supporting the Department’s organizational needs. Applicants must have extensive knowledge and experience within a Human Resources environment. Candidates must possess skills to be a collaborative partner with managers in the areas of labor relations, performance management, recruitment and selection, employee misconduct, grievance handling, and matters related to employee investigations. The position requires strong writing skills to include documentation related to conducting investigations in the development of comprehensive reports for management consideration and for various employee appeal levels. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked within a Unionized environment. Statewide travel is required. To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience: An eight (8) year combination of directly related education, training, and experience demonstrating knowledge of professional level human resource management or employee relations, as described above, in either public or private sector. Excellent communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills are a must.
