This is a Job Description for a Human Resources Manager in Southaven, MS.
Summary:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the HR strategy execution in North America. The focus is on proactively driving execution to ensure the DS business targets are achieved through its people. Driving HR best practice and managing the efficient execution of the HR value chain is also a key focus of the role.
This position supports a distribution environment that consists of salaried, hourly, and temp employees. This position requires the ability to perform all responsibilities in a safe, accurate and timely manner in accordance with Safety policy & procedures, Quality and the principles of 6S3Q, and time standards. Regular attendance is a mandatory requirement due to the nature of the role. Position reports to the Site Director, working as part of the Southaven management team to drive continuous improvement using metrics to achieve operational, logistics, and HR excellence in service, quality and cost.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Training and Development (incl Occupational Health and Safety Assurance). Design and track the implementation of the training plan for all employees. Measure application of learning to ensure return on expectation (ROE) and return on investment (ROI)aligned to the Nidec Automation core competencies that enable target achievement and business sustainability. Provide reporting on training delivery and attendance. Manage the training delivery through in house trainers and/or service providers. Facilitate and conduct management development interventions based on the core leadership competencies.
Recruitment and Selection:
Efficiently manage the filling of open roles. Ensure that the approval to fill process is in compliance with implemented polices. Train and coach managers on competency-based interviewing. Provide accurate reporting on time to fill open roles and efficient problem resolution on delays. Liaise closely with appropriate staff to fill open roles efficiently. Support with tracking the performance of new hires to advise on changes to recruitment and selection processes, Conduct workstyle assessments where needed and feedback to candidates where necessary. Ensure that the on-boarding and off-boarding processes are completed accurately and efficiently. Ensure all roles have updated job descriptions.
Performance Management:
Drive the implementation of performance management across the business. Proactively identify issues of poor performance to advise plant management on corrective actions. Compile performance improvement plans (PiP)and assist management to implement and track. Guide management on daily performance coaching. Create interventions to drive a culture of performance excellence.
Employee Relations:
Provides hands-on management of employee related issues and concerns. Actively manage unnecessary downtime by instilling a collaborative culture within the site.
Compensation and Benefits:
Analyze discrepancies and advise on corrective actions. Advise leadership staff on appropriate recognition programs for all employees. Support with the annual merit, promotion and equity adjustments cycle, providing guidance to management on how best to align reward with performance. Implement and drive compliance to the ACIM compensation and benefits approach and policies. Stakeholder Management, Compliance and General support: Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews practices to ensure ongoing compliance. Forge a business partnering relationship with all stakeholders. Balance employee and organizational interests when advising management on corrective actions and/or disciplinary matters. Manages and maintains organization and employee data with strictest confidentiality.
People Management:
Create a high-performance culture with the staff. Actively drive the development of the team. Provide daily hands- n guidance to the team to avoid re-work, errors. Inculcate a culture of service excellence with HR administration related tasks.
HRIS management:
Ensure that there is excellent data integrity on Workday. Actively monitor the movements on Workday to ensure reporting is accurate. Drive the use of Workday as the single source of truth throughout the business.
Requirementsand Qualifications[]{#_Hlk142289191}[]{#_Hlk142304825}: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required, MBA preferred. Prior experience with warehouse, distribution or facilities management required. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR management experience. Six Sigma, Lean, 6S, NAFTA, Trade Compliance, CTPAT. Prior experience managing multi location facility preferred. Strong documentation experience effectively managing salaried and hourly staff. Work history must show individual has strong communication, analytical, creative and problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to analyze and interpret data, establish and meet deadlines, and respond to a changing environment. Individual must be results and detail oriented.
