Summary DS Group Holdings is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources & Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join our team. In this dual-function role, you will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions—including recruitment, employee relations, training, and compliance—as well as leading and managing the organization’s Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) initiatives. You will play a key role in fostering a safe, compliant, and supportive workplace by ensuring adherence to employment laws, safety standards, and internal policies. Your leadership will help drive employee engagement, operational excellence, and a strong safety culture throughout the organization. Responsibilities Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards. Provide training and support to employees on EHS best practices and emergency procedures. Perform root cause analysis for incidents and accidents to prevent future occurrences. Monitor workplace conditions to ensure compliance with occupational health standards. Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. Requirements Human Resources & Employee Relations Responsibilities

  • Enhance the organization’s Human Resources function by planning, implementing, and evaluating HR policies, programs, and practices.
  • Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, testing, interviewing, and counseling managers on candidate selection.
  • Conduct and analyze exit interviews and recommend process improvements.
  • Develop and conduct onboarding and orientation programs to prepare employees for success in their roles.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding HR, benefits, payroll, and logistical matters; ensure prompt resolution of issues.
  • Manage compensation plans by conducting pay surveys, job evaluations, and preparing pay budgets; recommend and implement pay structure changes.
  • Support performance management by training supervisors in coaching, conducting reviews, addressing grievances, and managing disciplinary actions.
  • Design, implement, and oversee employee benefits programs; evaluate needs and trends, process claims, secure contracts, and educate employees. -Ensure compliance with federal and state HR laws and regulations; conduct investigations, maintain records, and represent the organization at hearings.
  • Maintain and update HR policies and procedures; enforce management guidelines.
  • Manage personnel records by designing and maintaining a secure filing and retrieval system.
  • Process new hires and employee status changes in payroll after proper approvals are documented.
  • Administer weekly payroll and ensure timely updates to payroll records.
  • Ensure post-payroll disbursements to accounts payable by vendors (e.g., garnishments, child support) are made on time.
  • Prepare and submit timely federal and state payroll tax deposits; assist with quarterly and annual reconciliations.
  • Prepare and distribute year-end tax documents (W-2, W-3); perform period-based tax reconciliations. Employee Development & EHS management
  • Collaborate with operations and EH&S leaders to manage employee development and training for technical and safety competencies.
  • Provide strategic oversight and structure to the internal Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program.
  • Guide and support EHS personnel in acquiring necessary training and certifications.
  • As the EH&S Manager facilitate planning and delivery of safety training programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all training and development activities.
  • Upload self-service HR documents to the employee portal in a timely and accurate manner.
