Summary:
As a strategic partner, the HR Director is an integral part of the leadership team reporting directly to the C-Suite. This position leads the delivery of workforce strategies and drives the effective implementation of key initiatives, policies, and practices. The HR Director works in close contact with leaders to drive recruitment, employee relations, coaching, performance management, employee engagement, as well as other functional HR areas. The Director plays a key role in helping to build a dynamic employee culture where employees are engaged and find long -term success.
Responsibilities & Duties:
This is a department of one. Strategic leadership of the employment life cycle including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, compensation, performance management, professional development, and succession planning. Responsible for employee benefits, compensation, performance appraisal , personnel record keeping and employee relations Partner with leaders to identify staffing needs, job specification, qualifications, skills, and competencies Creates and maintain employee-related documentation, such as Employee Handbook, New Hire Checklist, Benefit summaries, etc. Identifies, evaluates, and drives resolution of employee relations issues, i.e., employee complaints, harassment allegations etc. Assists in the development and delivery of management and/or employee training sessions related to strategic initiatives, performance management, employee engagement, succession planning , etc. Provides advice, counseling and training to managers and superiors on performance-based issues, coaching, discipline, corrective action plans and terminations Conducts, analyze and report of trends related to employee relation activities Raise the overall level of organizational maturity through strong HR practices that are well documented and repeatably demonstrated Conducts exit interviews to analyze reasons for separation and identify any trends Assists employees with developing personal strategies or action plans related to career development, performance management, peer/manager conflict, leader communications and effectiveness Lead HR Process Improvement initiative to proactively identify areas of process improvement, innovation and/or areas to drive efficiencies Maintain knowledge of HR trends best practices, regulatory changes Lead or participate in special and/or cross functional projects related to strategic initiatives
Skills and Abilities:
5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in the areas of Employee Relations, Benefits, Recruiting and Employee Engagement Must have demonstrated track record of being strategic in planning, developing, and executing against company goals and objectives Must have strong discretion in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information at all times Sense of urgency and ability to set and manage priorities Ability to maintain composure during stressful/emergency situations Attention to detail, good follow-through and organization skills are paramount. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) are imperative Excellent decision-making abilities and abilities to apply information quickly. Highly collaborative leader focused on Employee engagement, growth and development Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Oracle. Ability to work in a dynamic, pressured and everchanging environment. Keep leaders aware of significant HR issues or concerns.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or another related field SHRM certification is a plus.
