SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Schools, the Director of Human Resources develops and executes a Human Resources strategy that aligns with the District’s strategic plan. This position is responsible for managing all functions of the Human Resources department including: employee relations, labor relations, benefits, recruitment and selection, classification and salary administration, safety, training and fair employment, ensures legal compliance with state and federal and federal laws, conducts investigations; and works with unions to ensure proper execution of collective bargaining agreements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Milford School District’s instructional programs, policies, procedures, supervision theories, strategic planning and data analysis.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Sets priorities; works collaboratively as part of a team; works with frequent interruptions, adapts to changing work priorities.
Maintains confidentiality.
Ability to work across all levels of the organization and lead through influence.
Ability to connect with employees in a timely and effective manner.
Ability to think strategically and identify problems and come up with solutions quickly and creatively.
Proven experience coaching and supporting all levels of an organization.
Fast-paced and action-oriented, can comfortably operate and make decisions in ambiguity.
Strong knowledge of employment law, organizational structure, and human resources operations.
Proven ability to take ownership and run autonomously and lead through inspiration.
Strong communication written, verbally, and physical cues, with a proven ability to empathize and understand diverse perspectives.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree Personnel Administration/Labor Relations or related field from an accredited college/university.
Five (5) years Human Resources experience required.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
PHR/SPHR Certification or
SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP
preferred, but not required.

$90,000-$110,000 per year
