Job Summary We’re looking for a passionate, driven individual to lead the YWCA’s Economic Empowerment program—someone who believes that financial stability and workforce development are essential tools for advancing equity. As Program Manager, you’ll support women—especially women of color—on their journeys toward economic independence, while also shaping community programming that uplifts individuals across generations. In this role, you’ll manage a caseload of 20-30 women residents, developing customized workforce plans and guiding them toward employment, education, or training opportunities. Beyond direct service, you’ll serve as a visible and dynamic leader—facilitating monthly workshops, hosting or co-hosting public events, and building partnerships that expand our reach across Westchester County. The ideal candidate brings strong facilitation skills, a deep commitment to equity, and the ability to move seamlessly between one-on-one coaching and community engagement. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Staff Management Recruiting, training, and supervising all staff related to the program including interns and volunteers. Manage a volunteer mentorship program to provide one-on-one support to program participants. Collaborate with other YWCA staff and community partners members to build and expand the program to best meet the needs of women in the community. Support Advocacy efforts at the local and state level. Network with partner organizations and participate in community economic empowerment committees and task forces. Program Oversight & Evaluation Collaborate with the Executive Director Women’s Empowerment to develop and implement a strategic plan to support a strong economic and workforce development program. Manage YWCA’s Strive digital skills economic empowerment program including facilitation of a multi-week curriculum (in a virtual and in-person format) and provide support to participants and staff. Manage Sisters Village E4 program (bi-monthly job search/financial literacy workshops). Support YW Strive and Sisters Village E4 program participants in job search activities as needed. Oversee the adaptation of the YW Strive and related curriculum to remain relevant and accessible. Oversee the collection and preparation of participant data and reports for funders. Workforce Development Support (Women’s Residence) Provide targeted employment-focused case management to a caseload of approx. 50 residents. Collaborate with Case Managers and Housing Retention Specialists to support participants with employment and education goals. Refer residents to in-house and external resources including GED, vocational training, job fairs, and job placement agencies. Engage older adults in economic empowerment initiatives, including return-to-work programs aligned with government efforts and Social Security incentives, helping seniors explore employment, financial literacy, and income sustainability. Track outcomes related to job placement, income growth, and retention. Community Partnerships & Advocacy Lead and co-host public-facing workshops, panels, and events that promote financial literacy, workforce readiness, and economic empowerment across Westchester County, positioning the YWCA as a visible and trusted resource for community advancement. Represent YWCA in workforce and economic empowerment coalitions across Westchester County. Build and maintain partnerships with local employers, training programs, and community organizations. Support advocacy efforts focused on closing racial and gender wealth gaps. Qualifications Education and Essential Experience Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field preferred Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years minimum work experience will be considered. Strong knowledge of social work principles and practices. Developing, managing, or running programs that support women. Experience leading group discussions and/or facilitating trainings required. History of outreach and collaboration with community partners. Background in housing support, case management, or employment services strongly preferred. Working with diverse populations and helping others gain employment preferred. Experience and confidence using common workplace technologies, like Google Suite or Office 365, required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Understanding employment challenges/obstacles for women. Ability to think creatively and strategically. Must be comfortable and knowledgeable with utilizing technology to work in a virtual and in-person format. Understanding of and commitment to YWCA’s mission. Comfortable facilitating trainings and responding to unanticipated challenges. Ability to positively engage with a diverse group of learners. Work independently, as well as fully engage in a culture where team collaboration and diplomacy are highly valued. Experience using common workplace technologies, like Google Suite or Office 365. Maintain records and data required for program reporting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must have a reliable internet connection at a remote setting of choice.
