Enhancing Sustainability by respecting and protecting the Environment in the communication where we live and work Position Summary The Human Resources Business Partner provides technical expertise for labor law, employment standards, and positive employee engagement by implementing and administering a variety of human resources programs, initiatives, and policies, and will be responsible for delivering the day-to-day activities for human resources. The HR Business Partner is well-versed in HR best practices and serves as the first line of partnership and support to managers and employees. The Business Partner addresses and advances complex issues, ensures training and development, and meets performance management objectives. While based in the Pittsburgh area, the position would include 50% travel to facilities in the USA and Canada. Key Responsibilities Reporting under the structure of the VP of Human Resources for North America Molten Solutions(NAMS), the Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for the following duties and tasks, among others: Tracks and maintains accurate employee census records. Has a crystal clear understanding of who NAMS people are, what they do, and where they work. Possess a desire and willingness to understand the business, including 50% travel Develop or maintain data or analytics to track, create, and develop reporting or dashboards. Accountable for employee and labor relations for day-to-day questions about HR policies or offerings. May partner with corporate HR to review labor concerns or grievances. Lead or assist in investigating various employee-related issues, incidents, and complaints. Resolve disputes and provide recommendations and assistance to managers regarding disciplinary action. Provide insight, opinion, and support for the development and execution of policies and procedures. Partners with senior HR, Talent Acquisition manager, and business managers to have a clear understanding and a plan to acquire talent. Assist in the recruitment process, as needed, including approval of job requisitions, job postings, interview process, and other relevant pre-employment tasks. Process and communicate employee status changes such as employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases, and other related employment changes, including updating job descriptions. Develop a training and development plan with senior HR and managers, communicate the plan, track completion, and report on results. Recommend follow-up actions. Process tasks related to succession planning and performance management, and provide guidance and training to managers and supervisors as necessary. Coordinate training and development initiatives up to and including the delivery of content. Partner with corporate benefits administration to ensure NAM employees’ questions and concerns are addressed and enrollments are timely and effective. Partner with health and safety to manage specific safety benefit programs, i.e., prescription safety glasses. Knowledge of workers’ compensation, FMLA, STD, and LTD guidelines. Comply with all government regulations. Communicate status updates with managers, supervisors, and relevant business partners. Prior or current understanding of Canadian employment law. Assist with investigations of workplace accidents and may report or update the insurance carrier. Partner, support, and participate in regional safety committee meetings, complete required training for compliance purposes, and have an awareness of occupational safety and health regulations and compliance. Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws (US/Canada) and regulations, including EEOC reporting requirements, and maintain up-to-date knowledge. Consults senior HR and potentially legal counsel as needed. Collects and analyzes internal comparisons and external information in support of the organization’s HR practices compared to those prevailing in the market. Process employee offboarding tasks, including conducting exit interviews, benefits termination (including COBRA, where applicable), termination letters/meetings, etc. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately, and retention requirements are followed. Periodically perform employee orientation and onboarding for new employees, including administering all new hire paperwork and input into the HRIS. Assists with planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday events, and retirement celebrations. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of HR files and records. Participate in the development and testing of new objectives within HRIS. Perform and gather ad hoc reporting and ensure completion of HR forms and documents. Perform other duties as assigned, and deemed necessary, for business needs and growth. Required Skills/Abilities Advanced MS Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines.

Ability to operate general office equipment. High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, with the ability to learn new or updated software. Some union grievance or familiarity with union contracts. Advanced knowledge of HRIS and the ability to learn new technical systems, when needed. Education and Experience Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources. 3-5 years of Human Resources experience. Valid passport manufacturing background is highly preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May be required to stand in place on the shop floor for periods of time.
