Human Resources Director Better Collision Centers Charleston, SC 29403 • Hybrid work Director of Human Resources Better Collision – Based out of Charleston, SC, with store locations in South Carolina and growth targets in the Southeast. As we continue to expand, we seek a strategic and hands-on Director of Human Resources to join our leadership team and champion our people-first culture across all our locations. The Opportunity This is more than just an HR role; it’s an opportunity to build and shape the human resources function for a dynamic and growing multi-shop collision repair business. The Director of Human Resources will be a key strategic partner to the executive team, responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that support our business objectives and foster a positive, safe, and engaging work environment for all our employees. You will be crucial in attracting, developing, and retaining the top talent that drives our success. You will be empowered to implement modern HR technologies to enhance our efficiency and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities Strategic HR Leadership:

Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the company’s overall goals and promote a unified company culture across all eight locations. Leverage HR data and analytics to provide insights that drive strategic decisions.

Talent Acquisition & Retention:

Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for all positions, focusing on attracting and retaining skilled collision repair technicians in a competitive market. Develop innovative sourcing strategies using digital platforms, social media, and applicant tracking systems (ATS) to build a robust talent pipeline.

Employee Relations & Engagement:

Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to managers and employees, guiding all employee relations matters. Develop and implement programs to enhance employee morale, engagement, and communication, utilizing digital tools and platforms to reach our distributed workforce.

Compensation & Benefits:

Oversee the company’s compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, equitable, and aligned with industry standards.

Training & Development:

Identify training needs and develop comprehensive programs that support the professional growth of our team members, including career pathing for our technicians and leadership development for our managers. This includes implementing and managing e-learning platforms and virtual training initiatives.

Safety & Compliance:

Champion a safety culture by ensuring all shops comply with OSHA and other relevant regulations. Oversee workers’ compensation claims and lead safety training initiatives, potentially utilizing technology for training and compliance tracking.

Performance Management:

Manage the performance review process, providing managers with the tools and training to conduct effective performance evaluations and foster a culture of continuous feedback. Explore and implement performance management software to streamline the process.

HR Operations:

Oversee all HR administrative functions, including payroll, benefits administration, and maintenance of employee records. Drive efficiency by managing and optimizing our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and seeking opportunities to automate HR processes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. SHRM-CP or

SHRM-SCP

certification is highly preferred. 4+ years of progressive HR experience, with some experience in a leadership or management role. Proficiency with HR technologies is required. Experience implementing new HR systems is a plus. Proven experience developing and implementing successful technician or skilled labor recruitment and retention strategies. Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations. Demonstrated ability to analyze HR data to inform decisions. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization. A hands-on approach with a willingness to be present and engaged in our shop environments. Strong business acumen and the ability to think strategically while also managing day-to-day HR operations.
