VP of Business Development Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead our growth efforts in the healthcare staffing sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and business development within the healthcare staffing industry, with a deep understanding of client acquisition, relationship management, and market penetration strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities with hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare organizations. Build and maintain strong relationships with client decision-makers including HR, procurement, and clinical leadership teams. Create and execute strategic sales plans to achieve or exceed growth targets. Understand client needs and tailor staffing solutions that align with their organizational goals. Collaborate with internal recruiting teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of healthcare professionals. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends. Negotiate contracts and pricing models in line with company guidelines and market standards. Represent the company at healthcare conferences, networking events, and trade shows. Track and report key metrics including sales pipeline, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred). 5+ years of experience in business development or sales in the healthcare staffing industry. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Strong network of contacts within healthcare facilities, especially decision-makers in staffing and HR. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot). Understanding of healthcare staffing compliance requirements (e.g., JCAHO, HIPAA) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with MSP/VMS platforms. Existing book of business in healthcare staffing. Person who is a go-getter, not looking for a person to do cold calling/Email campaigning. Understanding of nurse staffing, allied health staffing, or locum tenens markets.
