ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ability to perform front line tasks and train on all human resources functions to include employee relations, strategic planning, onboarding, offboarding, engagement & retention, compliance, training, job analysis and safety. Provide support, guidance, and have direct supervision over select members of HR staff. Oversee HR helpdesk to ensure concerns are addressed timely and in real-time when possible Policy creation and keeper of records which includes deposition expectations. Oversee, interpret, and apply policies and procedures, ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Remain current on new and pending legislation and regulations to take appropriate action and recommend compliance-based practices and processes. Responsible for overseeing and periodic auditing of leave programs such as leave of absence (LOA) and Family and Medical FMLA, short-term, unemployment claims, and worker’s compensation process while ensuring all documentation is completed within federal guidelines. Counsel associates on concerns related to applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and other federal and state laws. Assist and serve as a backup to the Director of Employee Relations regarding workplace investigations, as well as legal matters. Maintain and audit to ensure there are complete records of employee issues, memos to file, disciplinary actions, separations, and provide documentation for legal investigations. Provide training, advice, and guidance to associates to help address issues with co-workers and management, facilitate conversations between parties, and address associate performance and conduct issues. At the request of the Director, analyze and provide benchmark data, scorecards, charts, and other HR reporting, including audits and recommendations for improvement and compliance. Assist with the creation, oversight, management and enforcement of the HR budget and make recommendations to the Director when appropriate. Collaborate with medical staff and management teams to facilitate teamwork to accomplish organizational goals. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date strategic planning manual with continuity BUS plan and goals as well as ensure this is in place for other members of the HR department. Perform all other duties as assigned.
TRAINING EXPECTATIONS
Associates in this role are expected, as a condition of employment, to complete all training assigned within a reasonable time period, generally within less than 15 days.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This is a supervisory position. This position does have the authority to hire, fire, discipline, discharge, assign overtime, and/or direct and assign work, with the ability to effectively recommend any of these actions, This role also serves as a coach and mentor for other employees.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is NOT a hybrid, telecommute or remote role. This role is 100% in-office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL:
This position rarely requires travel.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field preferred. 5+ years of related experience required. Human Resources industry certification preferred.
