Job Description

Job Summary
Huntingdon College invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as a Scarlet and Grey Band Recruiter. Scarlet and Grey Band Recruiters represent Huntingdon College to prospective students, their families, and other organizations. Successful Scarlet and Grey Band Recruiters exhibit superior customer service skills and professionalism throughout daily interactions and communications with students including interviews, phone calls, emails and information sessions. The recruiter creates and implements recruitment strategies to reach prospective students through events, referrals, online and print communications. The Scarlet and Grey Band Recruiter must demonstrate an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members, faculty, students, alumni, administrators and staff. A flexible work schedule that will include days, evenings, and some weekends is required. Travel, a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Extensive travel, especially overnight, during Fall and Spring semester recruiting seasons.
Create an individual recruitment plan for each semester as well as participate in the creation of a team recruitment plan. The plan includes recruitment activities, participation in various events and college fairs, and communication with prospective students and families. Complete weekly reports to include documentation of prospective student recruitment/outreach activities
Ability to work on a deadline, strive towards college-wide enrollment goals and use outstanding customer service to recruit students to the College.
Utilize phone, text, email, and mail to communicate with prospective students in a timely manner, providing superior student service.
Become familiar with working territory and demographics of cities/towns in that area to best reach the student population for Huntingdon College. Ability to work independently, and to arrange information sessions, set appointments, and promote the College in a positive manner.
Ability to follow directions and complete tasks accurately as well as accept supervisory input and constructive criticism.
Achieve assigned enrollment goals by managing recruitment activity among prospective students for the College’s Band program.
Maintain consistent contact with prospective students/parents with interest in Band through calling, emailing, social networking, texting and personal notes inviting students to take necessary steps through the recruitment process, leading to enrollment.
Host campus visit events for prospective students that integrate visiting students with current students involved in the band (game-day visits, band festivals, etc.).
Develop and maintain relations with high school band directors within the state.
Represent Huntingdon College at various student recruitment events, on and off campus, as needed.
Meet with prospective students and their parents during recruitment events and individual campus visits.
Actively participate in recruitment events such as open houses, scholarship events, and personal student visits.
Represent the Huntingdon band in community events and outreach activities to increase awareness of the opportunities. Prepare and manage budgets for the band’s needs, including equipment, supplies, and travel. Assist with the coordination of auditions and ensure a smooth process for potential recruits. In charge of the pep band in the spring.

Education & Experience Required

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college is required
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
Recruiting, sales, and/or knowledge of higher education required; Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills; Well-developed presentation skills are required; Goal oriented and intrinsically motivated with superior customer service and networking skills; Ability to build relationships with students and determine the correct program fit for students’ career and personal goals and follow them through the enrollment process. Experience working with musical ensembles such as pep bands, marching bands, and concert bands.
Physical Effort Required
The candidate is required to be mobile and occasionally lift and/or move to 40-50 pounds.
