Summary:

The Senior Director of Physician Recruitment will lead the organization’s physician recruitment strategy to attract, hire, and retain top clinical talent in alignment with organizational goals. This role oversees all aspects of the recruitment lifecycle, including workforce planning, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding. The Senior Director will collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to ensure the development and execution of a comprehensive recruitment strategy that meets current and future provider needs.

Responsibilities:

Develop and manage the physician recruitment budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

Develop and implement a long-term physician recruitment strategy to support organizational growth and clinical excellence.

Cultivate strong relationships with medical schools, residency programs, and fellowship programs to develop a pipeline of future physician talent.

Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and organizational policies related to physician recruitment and hiring.

Establish and monitor recruitment performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of sourcing and hiring efforts.

Collaborate with executive leadership to identify short-term and long-term provider workforce needs.

Manage external recruitment partnerships and vendor relationships as needed.

Serve as a trusted advisor to physicians, providing clear communication and guidance throughout the recruitment process.

Monitor and address recruitment-related metrics such as time-to-fill, candidate satisfaction, and retention rates.

Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified physician candidates through innovative sourcing techniques, including online platforms, networking, and industry events.

Work with physician leadership to implement strategies that improve physician retention and satisfaction.

Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture focused on delivering results.

Oversee and colloborate on the end-to-end physician recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.

Collaborate with HR, credentialing, and onboarding teams to ensure a seamless experience for new hires.

Lead, mentor, and develop the physician recruitment team to achieve department goals.

Monitor market trends and analyze data to ensure competitive recruitment practices.

Partner with department chairs, medical directors, and operational leaders to understand and fulfill recruitment needs.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Strong understanding of the healthcare industry and physician workforce trends.

Proficiency in recruitment technologies, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and analytics tools. Strategic thinker with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Required Work Experience:

Minimum of eight to ten (8-10) years of progressive experience in physician recruitment, with at least five (5) years in a leadership role.

Proven track record of successfully recruiting physicians in a healthcare system, academic medical center, or large physician group.

Experience with candidate sourcing strategies, workforce planning, and data-driven decision-making.

Master’s degree preferred.
