What work will you perform?
In this role, you will be working directly with prospective CDL drivers interested in driving for Landstar. This position is responsible for evaluating qualifications for independent Owner Operators, guiding them through the leasing process with Landstar, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. You will be responsible for efficiently facilitating a positive onboarding experience, while maintaining accurate and up to date records. Your experience with strong diligence coupled with a history of excellent internal and external customer services will greatly assist with your success in this position.
Essential Responsibilities:
Facilitate the onboarding process for DOT driver candidates and leasing of tractor/trailer equipment
Ensure all Operators meet the necessary DOT qualifications, certifications, and company guidelines
Interact with a large array of customers via email, phone, vendor platforms, etc.
Collect and maintain accurate records of driver information and compliance documentation
Obtain and update necessary corporate, ownership, and insurance documents
Assist with scheduling and coordinating Operator assignments
Order and analyze various reports and verifications
Collaborate with leadership to address any onboarding issues or concerns
Minimum Experience and Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1 year of administrative support experience
1 year customer service background
Preferred Experience:
6 months experience in the transportation Industry
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of general onboarding processes and procedures
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Capacity to retain potential drivers through the onboarding process
Ability to read and comprehend regulatory information and reporting
Professional phone etiquette; ability to handle escalated conversations
