Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Trades Recruiter to join our team and take the lead in sourcing, attracting, and hiring top-tier trades professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of skilled trades, industry hiring trends, and workforce needs. This role involves full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing candidates, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating hiring processes to ensure we place the right talent in the right roles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract skilled trades professionals (e.g., electricians, welders, mechanics, plumbers, carpenters, etc.). Source candidates through various channels, including job boards, trade schools, social media, networking events, and industry partnerships. Screen resumes and conduct initial interviews to assess candidates’ qualifications, experience, and cultural fit. Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers, providing guidance on selection and hiring best practices. Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified trades talent for current and future hiring needs. Develop relationships with trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and workforce development organizations. Negotiate job offers, compensation, and employment terms in collaboration with hiring managers. Stay updated on labor market trends, wage rates, and hiring practices within the trades industry. Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and industry regulations throughout the recruitment process. Track recruitment metrics and provide reports on hiring progress and success rates.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Proven experience in recruitment, preferably within skilled trades, construction, manufacturing, or industrial sectors. Strong understanding of trades roles, certifications, and industry-specific hiring challenges. Ability to build relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners. Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting platforms. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of employment laws and hiring best practices.
Education & Experience:
• Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required). Minimum 2-3 years of experience in recruitment, with a focus on trades or skilled labor. Experience working with union and non-union trades hiring is an asset.
