Position Summary:

We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team at SPC Mechanical, a leading mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC and Plumbing for commercial and industrial projects. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for full-cycle recruiting efforts, focusing on sourcing skilled tradespeople, project managers, estimators, and support staff essential to our operations. This role is critical to building and maintaining a strong talent pipeline in a competitive industry while upholding our company’s values and high-performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with department leaders and project managers to assess staffing needs and create targeted recruitment strategies. Proactively source candidates through job boards, social media, networking, trade schools, and industry events. Manage full-cycle recruitment including job postings, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and offers. Develop and maintain strong relationships with apprenticeship programs, trade schools, and local high schools and colleges. Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process. Track and report recruitment metrics to HR leadership and adjust strategies as needed. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and regional labor market trends, especially within the construction and mechanical trades. Assist in employer branding initiatives to attract top talent. Support onboarding and new hire orientation in partnership with HR and field leadership.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 3+ years of recruitment experience, preferably in the construction, skilled trades, or mechanical contracting industry. Strong understanding of the unique needs of field, shop, and office roles in construction. Proven success in high-volume or hard-to-fill recruiting environments. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of labor laws, hiring compliance, and workforce diversity initiatives. Preferred Experience (a plus): Knowledge of mechanical contracting services, such as HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal. Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
