Job Description Summary Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Undergraduate Admissions Recruiter is responsible for executing strategic recruitment activities to attract, support, and enroll prospective undergraduate students. This includes managing assigned recruitment territories, serving as the external face of the university to students, families, counselors, and community stakeholders, and guiding applicants through the admissions and financial aid processes from initial contact through enrollment. The recruiter is expected to travel frequently for recruitment events and proactively engage prospective students through outbound phone calls, emails, and digital outreach efforts to maintain strong communication throughout the admissions process. Job Description Duties and Responsibilities Recruitment & Outreach Manage an assigned recruitment territory with specific enrollment goals; develop and implement a strategic plan to meet objectives. Represent the university at high schools, college fairs, community colleges, community-based organizations, and other recruitment events. Build relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, community leaders, and workforce partners. Maintain consistent communication with prospective students to ensure awareness of academic programs, campus life, application requirements, and enrollment steps. This includes making outbound phone calls, sending targeted emails, and initiating digital outreach to keep students engaged and informed. Deliver engaging presentations to promote the university’s offerings and support students in exploring program options aligned with career goals. Serve as a liaison between the university and K-12 school systems and community organizations within the service region. Initiate early conversations about academic and career pathways to encourage informed program selection. Admissions Process Support Encourage, review, and follow up on admission applications, ensuring files are complete for review. Conduct interviews and campus tours to assess candidate fit and promote enrollment. Make admission decisions based on established criteria and in collaboration with the admissions team. Provide a basic understanding of the financial aid process and assist students in navigating available resources. Support students in transitioning from inquiry, to applicant, to enrolled student by removing barriers and offering exceptional customer service. Actively monitor prospective student pipelines and make scheduled and ad-hoc outbound calls to support application completion and enrollment conversion. Event Planning & Special Initiatives Plan, coordinate, and attend on-campus and off-campus recruitment events including open houses, orientation programs, and high school visits. Participate in evening and weekend events as required during peak recruitment seasons. Support strategic marketing efforts through collaboration with internal stakeholders. Administrative & Training Functions Maintain accurate records of student interactions and recruitment activity; prepare reports and summaries to evaluate outcomes. Stay informed on university programs, admission standards, financial aid changes, and trends in student recruitment. Mentor new staff and assist in developing training resources, as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university is required. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, or outbound sales. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong public speaking skills and ability to engage with diverse audiences Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with CRM or admissions systems (e.g., Salesforce, SIS platforms). Abilities and Attributes Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including evenings and weekends. Comfortable and confident making outbound phone calls to prospective students and families as a regular part of daily responsibilities. Independent, strategic thinker with the ability to plan and execute outreach efforts. Strong team player with mentoring potential. Commitment to providing outstanding service to students and families throughout the admissions process. Work Environment This position involves frequent travel, public speaking, and extended work hours during peak periods. Candidates must be comfortable moving throughout campus and external locations, lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and using various technologies and media tools.
