HUMAN RESOURCES SERVICES DEPARTMENT POSITION PURPOSE
The Talent Acquisition Specialist manages and leads the district’s efforts to recruit highly qualified and effective teachers with a focus on elementary staffing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Implement district’s recruitment plan. Focus on recruiting and hiring talented teachers for elementary classrooms. Develop new and innovative recruitment strategies with colleges and universities. Focus special attention on critical shortage areas (Special Education, Math, Science, and Languages). Build and execute a social media strategy for recruitment. Conduct site-visits at multiple university campuses for recruiting purposes. Include strong teachers and administrators on recruitment teams. Manage the observation, practicum, and student teachers who conduct their clinical experiences in the district. Manage the district’s certified employee marketing plan. Work with the district’s public relations team to continuously update the district’s marketing plan and recruitment materials. Design and implement an annual Teacher Career Fair. Receive applications, review and approve them for immediate access. Communicate with applicants regarding the hiring process. Ensure support for the interview and selection processes. Recommend strategies to support employee retention. Support the management of our on-line district application system.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Chief Administrative and Human Resources Services Officer, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in education. Must hold a valid South Carolina Teaching Certification or other related experience. Be able to obtain required certification within 90 days of employment. Exhibit a strong understanding of diversity and inclusion. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office and Adobe Publishing Software. Must be able to travel.
EXPERIENCE
: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in teaching and/or school administration.
