SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract, onboard, train, and retain a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent. They will fully support managers throughout the hiring and onboarding process. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will work closely with the VP, Talent and the Culture & Engagement Strategist to co-create a Talent strategy. The Talent Acquisition Specialist reports to the VP of Talent.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Attract Collaborate with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria. Create recruiting materials including new hire sites and documents that showcase the ALCO Talent brand and Total Rewards package. Source potential candidates from various online channels (e.g. social media and professional platforms). Develop new and creative ways to source candidates from job fairs, trade schools, and other in-person channels. Craft recruiting emails to attract passive candidates. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies. Recruit, Hire & Onboard Utilize the Paycom system to its full potential to streamline and automate processes to create more time and space for human interactions and reduce time to hire. Screen incoming resumes and phone screen candidates. Provide shortlists of qualified candidates to hiring managers. Prepare and distribute assignments and tests. Schedule interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials when needed. Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews (when necessary) with managers, directors, and other stakeholders. Send job offer emails and answer queries about compensation and benefits. Act as a consultant to new hires and help them onboard. Train & Retain Design and implement an ALCO branded onboarding process that will ensure each new hire is ready from day 1. Provide robust trainings for managers on the hiring and onboarding process. Create the systems and processes that keep managers connected and informed to their hiring process, timeline, and candidates. Keep incoming hires excited and informed about their onboarding and each step leading to day 1. Ensure that managers are prepared for day 1 with their new staff member. Collaborate with managers to identify future hiring needs. Monitor key HR metrics, including time-to-fill, time-to-hire and source of hire.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

Internally the Talent Acquisition Specialist will have contact with Regional Property Managers, Community Managers, central office staff and members of the Leadership Committee. Externally, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will have contact with a variety of recruiting professionals, Temporary Staffing Agencies, local newspaper representatives, and university and college career centers.

Balancing the various priorities of the recruiting and hiring process Numerous demands on their time (prescreening, scheduling interviews, documenting the Applicant Tracking System, scheduling assessments, requesting criminal background searches, pre-employment drug screens, etc.) They must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands and still maintain sight of the overall operational plan Background, SKILLS & Experience Education Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred At least five years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process, highly preferred SHRM-CP or

preferred SHRM’s Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential a plus Skills & Experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Participation on the Talent Team requires commitment and adherence to the Talent Team Cultural Commitments.
