Position Summary
The Vice President of Workforce and Strategic Initiatives is responsible for shaping and driving the overall direction of workforce development and strategic initiatives at Bevill State Community College. This position will lead the development and implementation of innovative programs and partnerships that address the workforce needs of local industries andmunities while ensuring alignment with the College’s mission and strategic goals. The Vice President of Workforce and Strategic Initiatives will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including industry leaders, government agencies, and educational institutions, to position Bevill State Community College as the regional leader in workforce and economic development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A. Strategic Leadership and Planning
Serve on the President’s Cabinet and provide input on the overall direction of the College. Develop and implement strategic initiatives that position Bevill State Community College as the leading workforce training provider in the region. Identify and pursue workforce development and economic opportunities that align with the College’s mission and strategic goals. Lead all workforce development and training initiatives, ensuring facilities and programs meet regional workforce needs and industry standards. Explore opportunities for new workforce training programs, industry partnerships, and funding sources to enhance the College’s workforce development capacity. Monitor industry trends, labor market data, and regional economic conditions to adjust programming and strategies to meet evolving workforce needs. B. Program Development and Oversight
Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of workforce programs to ensure relevance, quality, and effectiveness. Ensure that all programs meet state and federal accreditation andpliance standards. Foster the integration of emerging technologies and instructional methods into workforce programs. Develop pathways from non-credit workforce programs to credit-bearing degree and certificate programs. Lead efforts to secure and manage grants and other funding sources to support workforce and strategic initiatives. C. Industry and Community Engagement
Identify, develop, and strengthen strategic partnerships with business and industry leaders, workforce and economic development boards, chambers ofmerce, and government agencies to enhance workforce opportunities. Serve as the primary liaison between the College and external partners for workforce and economic development initiatives. Collaborate with local and state workforce and economic development agencies to align workforce training with business recruitment and expansion efforts. Represent the College at regional and state-level meetings and conferences related to workforce and economic development.
D. Team Leadership and Operational Management
Provide leadership and supervision to workforce staff, faculty, and administrators. Develop and manage budgets for workforce programs, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the workforce programs and strategic initiatives. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of workforce programs and strategic initiatives.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the President.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required. A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in business administration, finance, or related field is required. Documented experience managing budgets, personnel, andplex projects is required. Proven experience in building and sustaining industry andmunity partnerships. Demonstrated success in developing and securing grants and external funding.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

A strong understanding of workforce development systems and economic development strategies. Excellent leadership,munication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives with measurable oues. Knowledge of labor market trends and workforce development needs in Alabama and the southeastern U.S. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including business leaders, government officials, and educational institutions.
Excellent written and verbalmunication skills.
Proficientputer usage. An nderstanding of the College’s mission and vision.
Ability to consistently produce high-quality work within established deadlines, with or without direct supervision.
Knowledge of Federal and State policies and regulations. Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with employees and stakeholders.
Ability to manage various situations in a calm and professional manner.
Ability to collaborate effectively as a contributing member of the team on all assignments.
Ability to work independently while recognizing the importance ofmunicating and coordinating with other employees and departments.
