Two years of experience in designing, developing, and facilitating training programs to include safety training are required. Must obtain OSHA Certification within one year. Additional experience in designing, developing, and facilitating training programs to include safety training may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Recruitment Notes The Manager, W&S Training and Development is a critical managerial position directly supporting departmental training initiatives for Miami-Dade Water and Sewer (WASD). The incumbent is responsible for program-level administration, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of all employee training and organizational development programs, including county, state, and federally mandated training, occupational health and safety regulatory training, continuing education and professional development training, as well as, specialized technical and trade skills development programs to ensure alignment with the department’s strategic and business plan goals; adherence to internal coordination procedures; as well as, compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). All departmental training is tracked using the Environmental Support Solutions, Inc. (ESS) Compliance Suite and the County’s Peoplesoft eTraining systems. Additionally, this position will explore advanced training technology to enhance effectiveness for WASD employees.
