Manager of Staff Training and Development 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars Mangonia Park, FL 33407 Job Overview The Manager of Staff Development and Education directs the staff development program for the hospital. The Manager of Staff Development and Education assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs for staff throughout the facility. The Manager of Staff Development and Education develops appropriate educational programs, coordinating the content with the organizational goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and hospital-wide performance improvement initiatives. The Manager of Staff Development and Education organizes and plans cycles of training sessions, new-hire orientations, and, as able, individually tailors training programs for all staff. This position will report to the Manager of Human Resources. Responsibilities Assumes responsibility for the completion of all staff development training responsibilities/new hire/student/contracted staff orientations; Responsible for keeping office records and documents current and organized; Assists in orientation/class setup and maintains security of all textbooks and tests. Provides pre-course material to students; Maintains registration log for classes; Provides adequate training opportunities to accommodate needs of staff; Instruct hospital staff in mandatory training as a new employee and reviews in a timely manner based on the policy of the hospital; Is or will be certified as a trainer for CPR and CPI and provide those trainings to staff in new hire orientation and as needed for refresher trainings for staff; Maintains records of all staff development requirements on all hospital staff; Scores all test results from trainings and files in employee records; Assures compliance with all federal and state legal requirements; Acts as a participating member of all meetings and committees as required; Ability to meet with regulating agencies and must be able to answer to any issues/questions related to competencies and mandatory trainings; Answers all incoming calls to the department and responds appropriately; Will assist in the creation of policies for department; Distributes monthly calendars and internal class flyers to all departments. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization. Minimum (2) two years of leadership experience in Staff Development or related experience preferably in the mental health field. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Familiarity with employee evaluation techniques and adult education principles is preferred. Experience or knowledge in change management practices is a plus. Proficiency in using LMS platforms and creating e-learning content with Adobe Captivate is desirable. Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data effectively. Demonstrated interest in succession planning and talent development strategies. A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organizational skills.
