POSITION SUMMARY
As the Director of Training & Development you will be responsible for setting and driving learning and development strategy via planning and execution of CFHC’s training and education programs company wide. This role reports to the CHRO and you will collaborate with leadership, HR and key stakeholders to identify training and development solutions to support the needs of the company. You will identify organizational development training opportunities that drive standardized and optimized learning, in alignment with organizational objectives, to sustain consistent outcomes across the company while seeking new and innovative learning approaches. In this role you will oversee Heart University’s simulations labs and oversee high performing Learning Specialists in their areas of strength in medical, dental, administration, and call center including program and course development and delivery. You will oversee instructional design in analyzing, designing, developing and measuring of training programs. This is an active role, and you will use your training skillsets to lead and assist in course and program delivery including customer service, management, and leadership, among others. In this position you will also monitor and measure effectiveness of all learning programs, while identifying emerging instructional and technology trends for the development and delivery of leading-edge blended learning offerings (classroom and e:
Learning) with considerations for the adult learning styles of a diverse workforce.
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business, or a related field (strong preference for master’s degree). 5+ years of training and development roles; preferably in the health care field. Proven track record of developing a learning development strategy and related program components. Proven experience leading large-scale training projects and priorities linked to business objectives, in a fast-paced environment. Professional training background utilizing advanced online learning tools and in leveraging innovative learning platforms and learning technologies such as authoring software Camtasia and Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise to create and deliver interactive, engaging training courses. Strong grasp of instructional design and adult learning principles. Demonstrated success in developing and standardizing training programs for multiple areas. Extensive experience delivering classroom training with online learning elements, preferably within the health care field. Experience with interactive training methods including role-play, simulations, case studies, group activities, and gamification to promote engagement and application. Extensive experience with Microsoft Suite of products, Learning Management Systems (preferably Relias) and other training technologies. Excellent leadership, communication, presentation and collaboration skills. Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel locally to CFHC facilities. Flexible – ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week when necessary.
RESPONSIBILTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
include, but are not limited to, the following: Oversee a company-wide talent development strategy and vision, amending as needed to meet the needs of the business. Engage with stakeholders to assess training gaps, organizational development needs for training and staff development to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the company. Develop and maintain training elements (i.e. various training development roadmaps, communication plans, facilitator guides, handbooks, manuals, training documentation, training assessments, etc.). Provide oversight and strategic vision around training modalities, learning technologies and LMS solutions. Manage LMS system (Relias) to ensure relevant course offerings, tracking enrollment and course completion, and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of training programs. Create engaging training and development solutions to be delivered in live face-to-face and online training environments. Responsible for overall onboarding training, technology training, management and leadership development training, and both clinical and non-clinical skill set development. Manage training staff including talent selection, staff development and ongoing coaching and provide strong leadership to enhance team productivity and morale. Manage and develop training team on a daily basis including conducting performance reviews, coaching, and holding regular 1:1 meetings to discuss progress and career development. Facilitate and deliver training and development sessions, in person and e: learning, including customer service, de-escalation, management and leadership, among others. Participate in multiple internal committees as necessary including quality improvement, compliance and regulatory, operations and policy development to address challenges and promote high standards across departments and disciplines. Oversee the creation and maintenance of all educational content, including computer-based training and training content, and delivery of live instructor-led training, computer-based training, and supplemental instructional materials. Lead the maintenance of the internal training department sites including internal webpage, learning tracks, calendaring, training plans and competency skills checks. Manage training vendor relationships, budget, and pricing negotiations. Conduct and monitor post session training evaluations.
