JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Overview:

In this newly created role, you will have a unique and exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise and passion to design and implement a best-in-class development program that supports ABM’s strategic growth in the facility management industry. As a key member of the ABM Learning & Development team, you will work closely with the ABM Performance Solutions (APS) team to architect, scale, and eventually lead a team responsible for the APS development program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a scalable facilities management development program aligned with ABM’s business goals.
  • Build and manage a high-performing team as the program scales, ensuring organizational capabilities are developed in alignment with talent and operational needs.
  • Partner with operational leaders, HR, and subject matter experts to identify business objectives and performance metrics that improve operational efficiency and workforce effectiveness.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and thought leader on talent development philosophy, influencing stakeholders on best practices, hiring strategies, and organizational design.
  • Track, manage, and report on development program outcomes and KPIs, with full accountability for learning impact and business alignment.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on critical talent initiatives, including workforce planning, succession management, and capability building for key APS roles.
  • Actively contribute to broader talent management initiatives across ABM, helping to elevate technical talent through workforce development partnerships and innovative programs such as apprenticeships, internships, and technical/trade school alliances.
  • Operate effectively within a fast-paced, matrixed environment while demonstrating strong organizational agility, strategic thinking, and execution.
Reporting Structure:

This position reports to the Corporate Learning and Talent Development function and offers regular exposure to the APS Senior Leadership Team and Vice Presidents across ABM’s operational footprint.

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive learning and development program tailored to the unique needs of the facilities management workforce, ensuring alignment with ABM’s strategic goals.
  • Design and deliver engaging, high-impact training solutions that support diverse learning preferences and drive skills enhancement across all levels of the organization.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness by establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), including completion rates, skills development, and business impact.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to assess workforce capabilities, identify skill gaps, and implement targeted learning initiatives that improve employee engagement and operational performance.
  • Maintain and update training content to reflect evolving industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices, ensuring content remains accurate and relevant.
  • Leverage blended learning methodologies, including e-learning, virtual instruction, and in-person training, to maximize accessibility and learning retention across a distributed workforce.
  • Track and analyze workforce development metrics, such as employee retention, time to proficiency, and internal mobility, to inform strategy and continuous improvement.
  • Champion a culture of learning by promoting ongoing development opportunities and cultivating an environment where continuous growth is encouraged and valued.
Required Qualifications Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technical Engineering, required [Master’s degree prefered].

Experience:
  • 10 years of related experience including:
  • 5+ years building ground up training programs in facility management, technical, or skilled trades environment
  • 5+ years working in a technical, operational role who understands the technical nature of facilities management
  • 5+ years building scalable learnning and development solutions
  • 5+ years driving talent management, org design, and succession planning for large, complex, matrix organization
