SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Training & Development Manager, develops and delivers credit union-wide training and professional development programs for new and existing employees to enhance education and performance levels in alignment with the core values and mission of
SCU. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develops and delivers training programs and materials to the Credit Union’s employees on a diverse range of subject matter including but not limited to SCU systems, compliance, SCU products and services, and interpersonal skills to new and existing employees. Updates training materials as needed to ensure they are current. Works directly with Branch Administration for on-the-job-training placement of new Retail employees. Communicates progress during classroom training to the Training & Development Manger, the VP Branch Administrator and Human Resources as necessary. Obtains training schedules for new employees and newly promoted employees from Branch or Department Managers. Monitors progress of new trainees during their on-the-job training period and communicates progress updates with the Training & Development Manger, the VP Branch Administrator and Human Resources as necessary. Provide coaching to trainees as necessary Evaluates and assesses training programs to streamline efficiencies to better position the workforce for strategic and future initiatives. Creates and maintains training materials such as job aids and exercises to reinforce learning and promote skills transfer. Provides Credit Union-wide updates as needed based on changes to Operational procedures. Based on needs analysis, determines the appropriate delivery method and/or venue for training; classroom, train the trainer, on site, or webinar. Keeps current with developments in Credit Union systems and processes, and regulatory and compliance mandates by reading relevant journals, attending meetings, seminars, or courses. Completes reporting on training related tasks such as but not limited to, NMLS curriculum assignments, and trainee progress. Update manager with any concerns regarding performance of trainees, both new and existing.
SECONDARY DUTIES
Represents the Credit Union in community activities, networking associations and civic organizations. Assist HR in developing employee engagement programs and activities that enhance employment experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong Banking knowledge such as transaction processing, product knowledge, and state and federal banking regulations. Strong written and oral communication skills are needed to manage all aspects of training and development to support Credit Union-wide goals and objectives. Highly proficient technical skills needed to support all ancillary applications, Credit Union’s core system, Microsoft suite, Adobe Acrobat, and all other pertinent applications installed and supported by our IT department. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two-three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferably in training and development.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
